Just like the medical needs of the people who use cannabis, the effects of each strain can also vary greatly. Through careful genetic breeding and strain selection, breeders are able to select specific desirable traits in their strain. This results in more beneficial effects, while reducing certain undesirable traits. By selecting the best Indica and Sativa parents, breeders are able to capture the best traits of both parents, and therefore create a hybrid super strain. Although it is a long and complicated process through trial and error, breeders can balance the hybrid offspring to become more Indica-dominant, Sativa-dominant or an even 50/50 balance.
